Since the launch of Ocean View Living, Christina Parker has been one of its most talented and dedicated writers. Her creativity and skill have brought countless stories to life, covering everything from the rich history of Ocean View’s waterfront to the beloved pets that call this community home, as well as the inspiring local business owners and families who make Ocean View so unique.
Christina describes herself as ‘a beach girl at heart’ and has always been drawn to the charm of small coastal communities like Ocean View. Born and raised in New Orleans, she later moved to San Diego after earning her degree in Marketing and Business Administration. It was there that she met her husband, a Navy officer. In 2019, they relocated to Hampton Roads with their first child, Charlie, settling in the picturesque Chicks Beach neighborhood—just a short walk from the ocean, the perfect setting for their growing family. Today, the Parkers are a busy household with three children—Charlie (5), Brodhi (4), and Teddi (2)—and they are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their fourth child this May.
Before diving into writing, Christina spent over a decade in the fitness industry, managing and marketing boutique fitness studios in San Diego while specializing in teaching Pilates and barre. Though she paused her full-time career to embrace military life and focus on family, she still enjoys teaching private lessons. In addition, she and her husband have ventured into real estate investment, with a Sandbridge property they’ve successfully maintained for the past three years as the highlight of their portfolio.
Beyond her work with Ocean View Living, Christina offers freelance writing and copywriting services, considering it both a passion and a creative outlet. ‘Writing allows me to express myself and help others bring their ideas to life. Whether it’s articles, projects, or websites, I love shaping words into something meaningful,’ she shares. Her thoughtful approach and genuine storytelling ability make her an invaluable voice in the magazine, bringing a unique blend of sincerity and insight to every piece she writes.
Christina joined Ocean View Living in 2022, just before its inaugural issue went to print that October. She credits her close friend and the magazine’s publisher, Tamara Wetherbee, for bringing her on board. Reflecting on her journey with the magazine, she says, ‘The support from the Ocean View community has been incredible, and I’m grateful to be part of something so meaningful.’ To Christina, Ocean View is more than just a place—it’s a vibrant, welcoming community filled with remarkable people, thriving businesses, and, of course, incredible stories waiting to be told.
