Dear Ocean View,

Happy Spring! April has arrived in OV, bringing warmer days, blooming flowers, and the perfect opportunity to enjoy everything our beautiful coastal community has to offer. As we shake off the last chill of winter, we’re reminded of what makes our neighborhood so special—the stunning views, the welcoming spirit, and the shared sense of connection that brings us all together.

This season, Ocean View comes alive with outdoor activities, community events, and opportunities to support our incredible local businesses. Whether you’re taking a stroll along the beach, dining on a patio at one of our fantastic cafes or cantinas, or participating in a neighborhood clean-up, there’s no better time to embrace the beauty of where we live. Longer days and breathtaking sunsets serve as daily reminders of how lucky we are to call this place home.

In this issue, we highlight upcoming spring events, financial insights from expert DeAndre Coke on navigating market volatility, and another fascinating look at OV’s history from longtime resident Richard Hahn. We’re also excited to introduce Jen Alex, owner of East Beach’s newest shop, Little Lemon Arts (and our newest sponsor), and share all the details about their Grand Opening in April. And, of course, we can’t forget our Feature Family, the Kimmels—Ryan, Casey, and their two boys—who truly represent the spirit of Ocean View, bringing adventure, fun, and a strong sense of community wherever they go.

As always, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the businesses—both big and small—that make this publication possible. Their support allows me to share your stories, celebrate our community, and bring you this beautiful magazine every month. Each one of them loves Ocean View just as much as we do, so let’s show them our gratitude by shopping local and supporting their work. If you see a business featured in these pages, reach out, learn more about what they offer, and give them your support—you won’t find a more dedicated group of small business owners. We’re also looking to grow our team of Experts and feature more close-to-home charities, so if you have recommendations, send them my way!

Here’s to a season of growth, connection, and new beginnings. Wishing you all a joyful and refreshing April!

Much love, Tamara
